FLEXIBLE LEARNING SPACES

Flexible Learning Spaces acknowledge the different learning styles of different children, and therefore provide our students and teachers with an opportunity to work together collaboratively and comfortably. The space and furniture can be reconfigured easily in multiple ways to suit the needs of our learners and the context of the learning. The space is rich in technology to encourage and support creativity. The students can make choices about how to use the space and furniture to optimise their learning.

The learning spaces are described as:

THE CAVE

A space where a learner can reflect privately or learn independently. The cave can be as simple as using a stand-alone desk or headphones, or as complex as a dedicated withdrawal space. (one : self)

THE CAMPFIRE/MOUNTAINTOP

A space where many learners can gather to hear a ‘guru’ whether this a teacher, a fellow student or an expert within the community. (one : many)

WATERING HOLE

A space where learners can interact spontaneously and collaborate together. (many : many)
