Sequenced and age-appropriate musical experiences aim to educate not only the eye, but the ear. Within the music program students build musical literacy by incorporating games, movement, the playing of instruments, and the reading and writing of music, with singing. Students are exposed to classroom percussion instruments, glockenspiel, recorder and guitar. Walliston Primary School runs a specialist Music program.  This program is run by Mrs Priscilla Powell. All students from PP – Yr 6 attend music classes in our purpose build music room. In Semester One the program was run by Mr Jared Maxwell while Mrs Powell was on leave.

The school has a choir run by Mrs Thomson and Mrs Levy, that practice twice a week.  The choir sing at special events eg ANZAC School Service, our Remembrance Day service, special Assemblies and also take part in Stirk Fest a singing festival run by the local primary schools in the area.
